Marco Polo - Ventimiglia (IM)

The Marco Polo restaurant, run for three generations by the Pani family, is located in a beautiful seafront position on the Ventimiglia promenade. The place is unmistakable: a building entirely made of wood, like a chalet, which stands out among the other signs of the beach establishments. The interiors are also completely made of wood: the overall atmosphere, warm and welcoming, may initially amaze with its originality in the context. The entrance precedes the two dining rooms. The main one has a rectangular plan, well-spaced tables and overlooks the private beach through large windows and a French door. In the kitchen there is Diego Pani, a young and concrete chef. Ristorante Giudice - Torino

Giudice is a true institution of Turin dining that has its roots back in 1944, when the Giudice family bought the old Parador located in the magnificent setting of the hillside of Turin and turned it into a restaurant. Since then, continuity has certainly not been lacking: chefs Carmelo Damiano and Marco Granato, who had already been working there as managers since 1991 and took over the business from the Giudice family in 2001, are still there now along with maître Diego Bava, the new entrant.
The restaurant, located in the cool of the hillside, has its own parking lot. After the entrance with its characteristic arabesque walls, here is the large main dining room in front of us. Beautiful round crystal tables with beautiful leg design are enhanced by minimalist equipment: Eme flatware resting on a ceramic tile, tumblers, and Riedel stemware.
Of Giudice's restaurant we appreciated first of all the cuisine, solid and modern, very attentive to enhancing excellent raw material with perfectly conceived dishes and well-calibrated combinations. Modernity with a hint of tradition, tradition with a sprinkling of modernity: this is the slogan of Giudice's new course, which we certify with conviction having verified it "in the field." The location is pleasant and evocative.
