Radix Cucina Contemporanea - Giaveno (TO)

Image
Radix Cucina Contemporanea is the new eatery opened by Chef Riccardo Portesi in Giaveno, a town in the Turin area not far from the Avigliana Lakes. From the entrance with counter, the rooms develop perimeterwise around the kitchen. The rooms are warm and well-kept, with some original details, such as the chandeliers. Riccardo Portesi's cuisine literally thrilled us. Having already known the chef in his previous experiences, we approached this new adventure of his with considerable expectations, all of which were abundantly exceeded. The imagination of the preparations, which is already expressed in the names (which intrigue and often make us smile), is combined with an uncommon technique, with a sense of measure and an attention to detail to be applauded. Nothing is left to chance, not even in the dining room, where Andrea Mauro proposes an original and well-thought-out food-wine pairing. Do you want to post your comment? Ristrot Guviol - Torino

Image
Located in the center of Turin, in the premises that were occupied by the historic Buca di San Francesco, the Ristrot Guviol owes its curious name to the acronym of the Italian words "Ristorante / Bistrot" and "Gusto / Vista / Olfatto". The restaurant has a simple and informal look, but also warm and refined. Particularly striking are the barrel ceilings with exposed bricks and parquet floors. The Ristrot Guviol turned out to be a thick experience, all the more pleasant because it was unexpected: we thought of approaching a good bistro and we found ourselves in a fully-fledged gastronomic place, run by a close-knit company of lovers of good food, good drinking and hospitality. Riccardo Portesi's dishes are very well assorted and personal, cooked with beautiful technique and aesthetic sense: you will begin to have fun reading the names on the card, and you will be amazed by passing by to taste them.
