La Bursch - Oretto (BI)
La Bursch, the family home of Milanese entrepreneur Barbara Varese, is a country house with a gourmet restaurant located a short distance from Biella. The original 17th-century historic residence has been transformed into a house museum thanks to the meticulous restoration of a large complex of interconnected stone buildings surrounded by a private park overlooking the Cervo stream. Bursch means "house" in the ancient Walser dialect of the Germanic peoples who once inhabited the Valsesia valley. Once you cross the threshold, you will be immersed in an atmosphere with a strong personality, entering rooms filled with collections of vintage objects and furniture. La Bursch Restaurant does not have a traditional dining room: you will dine at one of the many tables and small tables, many of which are set with white tablecloths that you will find in the house, in a sort of "diffused restaurant" that we had never encountered before.
