Monty Banks is the pseudonym of Mario Bianchi, an actor, director and dancer from Romagna who emigrated to the United States and was famous in the era of silent films. In 1939 he built this Villa in the hills of Cesena as a holiday home. Under the guidance of architect Gualtiero Pontoni, a structure with clear British influences and an unusual style for both the Romagna area and Italian architecture of the time was born. Today after careful restoration Villa Monty Banks is Hotel and Gastronomic Restaurant led by Chef Ivan Milani. The interiors in natural materials, marble and wood, feature references to the 1930s that blend with contemporary furnishings. La Cantina is the regional cuisine restaurant of Castel Monastero Resort, a magnificent complex carved out of an 11th-century monastery located among the Sienese hills, about which you will find a rich report in lemilleUnanotte. The Restaurant is housed in the medieval cellars of Castel Monastero: its high vaults and exposed stone walls take you back in time. The two dining rooms developed along the length differ in type and table arrangement, with the second more suitable for large groups. The kitchen of Executive Chef Davide Canella and his brigade offers typical dishes with a few modern touches, using excellent ingredients and juggling perfect cooking and serving times, even at the busiest times. Villa Pattono Restaurant is the gourmet space of the charming Relais of the same name created by the Ratti family (excellent Barolista) located in Costigliole d'Asti on the hill in front of the Castle. The two classical and elegant dining rooms, frescoed and decorated with oriental carpets and rich draperies, overlook the garden with century-old trees through large windows. Villa Pattono impressed us with its quality, classic and gourmet gastronomic proposal, appropriate to the location to which it belongs, that of a small Charming Hotel in the countryside. Alongside the inevitable Langhe proposals (battuta di fassona and plin above all), you will find fish dishes of excellent workmanship. The Coeur de Bois Restaurant is based in Cogne, inside the Hotel Miramonti, about which lemilleUnanotte publishes a rich Reportage. Its dining rooms are furnished with 18th-century fir wood paneling, antique furniture and paintings. The atmosphere is overall warm, elegant, and muffled. L'Etoile is the largest room, named for the walnut stars carved into the ceiling. Le Petit Bellevue is the gourmet restaurant of the Bellevue Hotel & SPA, the highly refined Relais & Châteaux in Cogne of which we publish a rich and detailed Reportage in lemilleUnanotte. The two small rooms into which Le Petit is divided have only six tables, each representing diners from various eras since the 1600s. If the Bellevue Hotel & SPA is a wonderful reality of haute hôtellerie with services that satisfy every sense, Le Petit Bellevue could only be its perfect appendix of taste. Marco Viganò and his Brigade give life to a contemporary cuisine of great quality, rightly creative but well attentive to the excellence of the raw material, starting with the products of their own garden: a cuisine that is expressed in colorful dishes, to smell and touch, with a particular propensity to enhance local and regional products. The only 6 tables with "themed" equipment and the size and furnishings of the two small rooms make the atmosphere unique and muffled....

The Dama-Dama restaurant is based in Porto Ercole inside the prestigious Argentario Golf & Wellness Resort about which lemilleUnanotte publishes a rich report. The interior of the restaurant is divided into two large rooms, the first of which faces the terrace, which is overlooked by full-wall windows. "Dama Dama" is the scientific name of the fallow deer, a splendid species that can be found in the forests that cover Argentario. At the Dama-Dama restaurant we tasted excellent cuisine based on the ingredients, flavors and colors of the territory with a dash of innovation. Chef Emiliano Lombardelli, a native of the area, works with impeccable technique a fine job of developing in a modern key some unavoidable traditional recipes with great attention to the quality of the raw material. La Villa is the in-house restaurant of the magnificent L'Andana Resort complex in the Tuscan Maremma, just a few minutes' drive from Castiglione della Pescaia and Punta Ala. You will reach the Resort by driving along a long "picture postcard" avenue with cypresses and maritime pines surrounded by vineyards. During warm weather La Villa sets tables on the veranda and in the front garden, graced by a pool with water features. The Veranda is cozy and classy, with large curtains decorating the windows and small tables well arranged to enjoy the coolness and the view. You can access it directly by lift from the Reception floor, first encountering the room with the bar counter, and, in front of this, the air-conditioned cellar, which in turn can host small convivial meetings. I Due Buoi, now led by chef Marco Molaro who took over Jumpei Kuroda, is the gastronomic restaurant of the Hotel Alli Due Buoi Rossi, a historic hotel in Alessandria since 1741. The elegant main dining room is played on very light colors, with the tables highlighted by dedicated lighting. There is also a small separate room with a single table, for absolute privacy. Marco Molaro continued the work of his predecessor with the unchanged goal of giving pleasure through food, respecting the raw material and the valorization of the territory. The tasting course we were offered proved to be excellent, with accurate presentations and a strong accent on "taste", which according to the Chef's philosophy must be the result of few ingredients, well matched and easily recognizable. The LeoneFelice Vista Lago restaurant is located in Erbusco within Albereta, one of the myths of the Italian Hôtellerie, owned by the Moretti family, who has transformed a noble villa into a luxury Relais in Franciacorta.
