Ristorante Acquamatta - Semiana (PV)

Image
The Acquamatta restaurant is located among the rice fields of Lomellina, inside a magnificently restored 1827 mill, surrounded by the protected landscape of the ZPS (Special Protection Area of the Lomellina Rice Fields). Nestled among the most important gargoyles in Lombardy, a stone's throw from Lomello's Romanesque treasures and Lomellina's most famous castles, Acquamatta enjoys an extraordinary location. From the very entrance, the restaurant stands out for its striking décor. All the architectural solutions were designed and created by Paolo, partner of owner and Chef Andréia Saito, a farmer by profession but also a talented interior designer. Note the stone floors, the hand-cut iron wine racks, the wall sconces made from the discs of the harrow, an agricultural tool. The windows of the dining rooms overlook the leap of the spring waters of the Roggia Raina, which provide the restaurant with the heat and electricity needed to heat and cool the roo...

Castellana San Giovanni - Saluzzo (CN)

Image
Castellana San Giovanni Restaurant is based in Saluzzo in an exceptional location inside the ancient monastery of San Giovanni. It is the twin of the prestigious Castellana Restaurant in Hong Kong, part of the property's plan to export Piedmontese cuisine to the world. The name Castellana takes inspiration from the typical female mask of Saluzzo Carnival, the home town of the restaurant's patron Matteo Morello, and is intended to emphasize the link with the area and its folk traditions. You can access the restaurant's dining room via the Hotel San Giovanni Resort and through its magnificent Cloister or from its direct entrance. La Castellana is "the place to be" to taste Piedmontese cuisine reinterpreted in a contemporary way by Chef Christian Milone's ideas and over-the-top technique. The goal of enhancing the immense culinary heritage of this area of Cuneo, which stretches from Saluzzo to the valleys where Castelmagno and Grana cheese ar...

Vin per Focaccia - Asti

Image
Vin per Focaccia defines itself as "Street Food for refined palates", and it couldn't be otherwise with a patron like Enrico Pivieri, Chef of the "fine dining" restaurant Il Cavallo Scosso, which we have always appreciated. The Roman pala is one of the most delicious baked products. The crunchiness, the lightness of the dough and its digestibility due to the high hydration and the long natural leavening undoubtedly make it one of the diamonds of Made in Italy bread making. Here at Vin per Focaccia it is further embellished with a range of delicious and always balanced fillings capable of surprising even the most demanding palates. Last but not least, it drinks very well, thanks to a careful and accurate selection of wine labels (but also, obviously, beer) to best accompany each ingredient. Do you want to post your comment? La Locanda dell'Angelo - Millesimo (SV)

Image
La Locanda dell'Angelo Restaurant is located in Millesimo, in the historic center of the charming village of medieval origins, situated on the ancient salt road that connected Liguria to Piedmont, surrounded by woods and lapped by the Bormida River, which flows just a few steps from the Locanda. The location is in a strategic position, a short distance from the Turin-Savona highway exit. The interiors reveal a clever mix of ancient and modern. The restaurant room, created from the old cellars, is welcoming and full of character, with parquet floors, vaulted ceilings and portions of the walls with exposed bricks. The Locanda dell'Angelo is an excellent gastronomic stop, with a modern cuisine that includes both the unavoidable dishes of tradition and a rich and delicious selection of fresh fish, strictly "caught". Creativity is expressed in a few well-calibrated touches that add value to each dish, and there is no shortage of French-inspired touche...

Élite Cafè - Pavia

Image
Élite Cafè is not just any bar but the one opened a couple of years ago in the heart of Pavia by Benito Langella, who in the past we met as a maître d in the rooms of excellent restaurants. A bar equipped with a kitchen, which serves breakfasts, aperitifs, lunches, happy hours and is suitable for graduation parties and private events. The decor is modern and pleasant, with a long steel counter, parquet floors, dark walls and wooden plank coverings. Élite Café is distinguished by a tasty cuisine proposal, rich in homages to Campania, that breaks away from the usual snacks. Patron Benito Langella, strong in his knowledge of the Room, a passionate and award-winning barman for his cocktails, the right entrepreneurial spirit, is a figure we esteem and who deserves the right emphasis.
