Fàula - Cerretto Langhe (CN)

Image
The Fàula restaurant is located in the Langhe hills inside the prestigious Relais Casa di Langa, of which lemilleUnanotte publishes a rich reportage. Its name, which in local dialect means "tale", was chosen in homage to the centuries-old tradition of the region which wants families and friends to spend time together sharing stories. The restaurant overlooks an entire glass wall onto the large terrace from which to enjoy the splendid panorama of the Langa hills, with Serralunga d'Alba in the foreground. You can access it directly by lift from the Reception floor, first encountering the room with the bar counter, and, in front of this, the air-conditioned cellar, which can in turn host small convivial meetings. The Fàula Restaurant impressed us in an extremely positive way. Chef Daniel Zeilinga has crystal-clear talent and a world-class hand: with each course the impression of being in front of a star of the first magnitude was strengthened in us. All...

Guido Ristorante - Serralunga d'Alba (CN)

Image
Guido Ristorante, the historic and prestigious jewel of the Alciati family, who have owned it for generations, is located in the splendid Villa Reale of Tenuta Fontanafredda, a nature reserve in Serralunga d'Alba, majestically nestled among the hills of the Langhe. The main entrance is located at the rear of the building, facing a large gravel parking area. The magnificent main hall has parquet floors, sumptuous chandeliers with crystal drops complemented by an original system of outdoor spotlights with reflective steel panels, and minimalist furnishings, consisting exclusively of curtains and shelves containing frames with old photographs, skillfully illuminated from below. The elegantly set tables are well spaced, allowing for complete privacy even in such an open environment. On the other side of the stairs, there are a series of small and large rooms, all featuring partially restored original floors and magnificent frescoed ceilings. At Guido Ristorante, yo...

Locanda del Pilone - Alba (CN)

Image
The Locanda del Pilone is housed in a perfectly restored old Piedmontese farmhouse that preserves its historic features intact. The complex is owned by Cantina Boroli, producer of great Langa reds. The atmosphere is that of a noble country house. The restaurant's rooms consist of two small dining rooms with characteristic brick vaulted ceilings, checked tile floors and a few well-spaced tables. Large windows, positioned on both sides, overlook the garden and surrounding vineyards. Locanda del Pilone has for years represented a gastronomic stage of great personality and solid reputation established over the years. It was one of the first Langa kitchens to open up to oriental influences, but without ever distorting its distinct identity linked to Piedmontese tradition. Chef Federico Gallo, endowed with very clear ideas and high school technique, impresses us with every visit, exceeding our expectations each time higher. The line of cuisine has evolved over time, ...
