La Pintadera - Millesimo (SV)

La Pintadera is based in Millesimo, in a quiet little square recently redeveloped with porphyry cube paving. Chef Massimiliano Torterolo, already awarded a star right here in town, opened a signature delicatessen there with his wife Francesca, which initially provided nothing more than take-out. Pintadera is a Sardinian name, in honor of Francesca's origins, for a circular-shaped stone archaeological find with a geometric design, found in very ancient settlements from the Nuragic period, which some believe was among the earliest lunar calendars, and others instead identify as a stamp for branding bread, somewhat like that of the Testaroli, to bring good luck to food. La Pintadera is a very "sui generis" reality: it is not only a Gastronomy, it is certainly a Bottega of artisan excellence in the true sense of the word, and it is also, by reservation only, a tiny gourmet destination for 2/4 people (which may be a dozen soon) in which to taste an amazing signature cuis...
