The San Giors of Turin, Hotel and Restaurant, is a real institution of the Piedmontese capital. The certain opening date is fixed to 1815 but some ancient documents mention it as an Inn since 1481. From 2013 the hotel restaurant San Giors is a member of the "Locali Storici d'Italia". From the entrance you can admire the rooms full of history that have preserved many of the original furnishings, starting with the old parquet floor. A polished piano stands out in the main dining room. At the San Giors restaurant we experienced an exciting journey into the most authentic Savoy tradition, in a simple but refined historical setting. Chef Paolo Ribotto has a happy hand in cooking the most famous Piedmontese dishes -Gran Bollito Misto and Bagna Cauda above all- with a careful research of the product and a great intelligence in preparing it, adapting it to today's taste without distorting it. Cascina Lautier is located in a manor house of the '700 a short distance from Chieri. Situated in a spectacular panoramic position on the hill, it enjoys a breathtaking view open to the Alps. To reach it, take a long access road that climbs from the main road. The restaurant is divided into one large rectangular room, in which the fireplace, always lit during the winter season, and the beautiful majolica stoves stand out. The terracotta floors, the ceilings decorated with circular elements, the wide draperies and the well-spaced round tables characterize the furniture, completed by a red closet at the entrance. For the beauty of the location, the warmth of the welcome and an excellent cuisine that respects tradition without disdaining some hints of innovation, well calibrated and without excesses, Cascina Lautier is a very recommendable address. Villa Somis has an enchanting location, in a magnificent panoramic position on the hill of Turin, 5 minutes by car from the center.
