Ristorante Piazza dei Mestieri - Torino

Image
The Piazza dei Mestieri restaurant is located in Turin's San Donato district, embedded in the complex of the same name, whose stones tell stories of more than 2 centuries: large spaces in pure Art Nouveau style, which were once a factory and a factory, and today have been transformed into a real project and social. The spaces that in the 1800s housed workers and laborers now open to a platoon of students, more than 500 very young people initiated into a trade directly by the masters of Piedmont's best culinary and artisan traditions. The area adjacent to the entrance, with the kitchen pass-through highlighted to good scenic effect, houses a seating area with sofa and armchairs. The structure of the room is that of a large loft with iron and glass windows in keeping with the industrial architecture of the building. For Maurizio Camilli, cooking is not just a job, but it is passion and culture. His curiosity leads him to be in perpetual motion to travel to exper...

Antica Locanda del Falco - Rivalta (PC)

Image
The Antica Locanda del Falco is located within the walls of the magnificent Rivalta Castle, along the course of the Trebbia River in Gazzola, Piacenza. The place is enchanting: a thousand-year-old Borgo, with cobblestone pavement and stone walls, wooden doorways and decorative ivy, the ancient church and castle keep, all imbued with a fairy-tale atmosphere. The rooms enjoy a warm, rustic atmosphere, enhanced by the wood lining the walls up to the height of the chair backs, the beamed ceilings, and the fireplace that is always lit during the cold season. At the Antica Locanda del Falco, which we had already greatly appreciated in the past for its excellent local cuisine, this time we had a whole new gastronomic experience in an environment that is remembered and appreciated for its warmth and history. Pietro Carlo Pezzati's contemporary cuisine is rich and stimulating, cultured and refined. The typical dishes are still there, and they are executed with absolute phi...

Coltivare Agri.Relais - La Morra (CN)

Image
Coltivare, recently created in La Morra by the Bagnasco family, owners of Agricola Brandini, is a completely new concept in the Langa, somewhere between fine dining, agritourism and Relais, with precise green and sustainability goals. The reins of the kitchen have been entrusted to Luca Zecchin, who comes from 20 starred years at Relais San Maurizio. Nestled among vineyards with breathtaking views of the entire Alpine arc and Monviso, the new property is designed with solar panels for energy self-sufficiency and has 5 rooms, garden, spa and swimming pool. With this striking new concept in the heart of the Langa, Agricola Brandini has gone big: A well-kept villa with a restaurant and a few rooms nestled among the hills and organic vineyards of Barolo, to which the definition of Agri Relais fits like a glove because of the biodynamic vegetable garden, the winery, and the small chicken farm attached to it; in the kitchen, an acclaimed chef who was a student of the great Lidia Alciat...

RistOrto Casa Format - Orbassano (TO)

Image
"RistOrto" Casa Format is the result of the Responsible Cooking and Hospitality project founded on a zero environmental impact ecosystem operating in Orbassano, in the open countryside but just a stone's throw from Turin, under the auspices of Giovanni Grasso and Igor Macchia's Credenza Group and in collaboration with the Owner of the large designer furniture store next door, Format Progetti Abitativi. The all-wood and glass building, fronted by a swimming pool, with photovoltaic and water-recycling systems that make it self-sufficient and totally environmentally sustainable, has a hi-tech appearance reminiscent of that of a villa in Florida or California. Casa Format's slogan is "responsible cooking and hospitality." So behind the building has sprung up a large vegetable garden with a winter greenhouse, which provides the cooks with raw material all year round, which can be visited and where you can, have an aperitif during the warm season. It is ...
