Il Martinet - Torino

Image
The Martinet, Local Cuisine, is a restaurant serving typical Piedmontese cuisine revisited and lightened with great taste. The restaurant overlooks a quiet street a few meters from Via San Donato. Already at the entrance you are struck by the well-kept rooms, with terracotta floors and vaulted ceilings with exposed bricks. The single rectangular dining room offers a warm atmosphere of times gone by. At the Il Martinet restaurant we tasted tasty traditional cuisine made with great care and respect for the raw material, based on quality ingredients with a careful eye on seasonality. Trattoria Al Paradiso - Paradiso di Pocenia (UD)

Image
Trattoria Al Paradiso-a real jewel set in the ancient, tiny rural village of Paradiso-already known in the 1960s as "Ostarie al Paradiis," was taken over in 1972 by Anna Maria Mauro and her husband Aurelio Cengarle, quickly becoming a true landmark of Friuli gastronomy. The 16th-century farmhouse that houses it has been delightfully renovated, with a fine architectural recovery of great impact. From the moment you enter, you realize that you are in an uncommon place, whose furnishings bear the imprint of exquisitely feminine taste. The interiors are structured in a theory of halls and small rooms, with frescoes and decorations that are also loaded but always tasteful, giving the rooms a distinct and original personality, certainly unique, creating an intimate, cozy and almost magical atmosphere, even difficult to describe without the aid of pictures. The fireplace room, with the traditional Friulian "fogolar," intimate and cozy, represents a fine exam...

La Bursch - Oretto (BI)

Image
The Bursch, family home of Milanese businesswoman Barbara Varese, is a country house and gourmet restaurant located a short distance from Biella. The original 17th century historical residence has been transformed into a house museum thanks to the careful conservative restoration of a large complex of interconnected stone buildings surrounded by a private park overlooking the Cervo stream. Bursch means "house" in the ancient Walser dialect of the Germanic people who once inhabited Valsesia. Crossing the threshold, you will be immersed in an atmosphere of strong personality, immersing yourself in rooms filled with collections of objects and antique furniture. The restaurant La Bursch does not have a classical dining room: you will eat at one of the many tables and small tables, many of them covered with white grandmother's tablecloths, that you will find in the house, in a kind of "diffuse restaurant" that we have never seen before. The old kitch...

Orto by Jorg Giubbani - Moneglia (GE)

Image
Ristorante Orto by Jorg Giubbani is based in Moneglia inside the Hotel Villa Edera and La Torretta. Entrusted to the hands of the talented young chef from whom it borrows its name, it represents the hotel's flagship gastronomic offering. At guests' disposal are two gathered rooms with large windows. At the Orto by Jorg Giubbani restaurant, we had a rich, cultured and stimulating gastronomic experience in an environment tailored to accommodate a sensory journey of the highest order. Jorg Giubbani's is a talent with many facets and qualities: punctiliousness, technique, precision, stubbornness, personality, taste and curiosity, imagination and a lot of love for his land and for Orto. Here you will taste a cuisine that is full appreciation of Liguria and its most authentic products, modern but respectful, rich in cues and quotations but always well dosed: in a nutshell, a cuisine that will thrill you. Fiorfood by La Credenza - Torino

Image
Fiorfood is COOP's innovative concept based in Turin's Galleria San Federico, the city's "living room" completely redeveloped by major building renovations. In 1,300 square meters on two floors are a niche supermarket offering the highest quality food products, a bookstore, a restaurant, a bistro bar and a major event space. Up a scenic grand staircase, Fiorfood Restaurant announces itself as an intimate and well-designed space. The unique rectangular development room boasts an elegant and cozy atmosphere, thanks to the pleasant combination of furniture elements, including dark parquet floors, wall niches, and large windows facing the Gallery. Fiorfood represents an innovative and tasteful gourmet cooking space. Credenza Group's active consultancy is felt in the dishes, which are always well-kept and well-presented, and can be felt in the overall organization. The ingredients used, mostly COOP brand products, are of absolute quality. Chef Alessandro Ucch...

Villa Garassino - Treiso (CN)

Image
Villa Garassino is a very pleasant "Relais de Campagne" located in Treiso, in the heart of the Langhe, nestled among the vineyards of Barbaresco. At Villa Garassino you will enjoy cuisine that, thanks to new Chef Fabio Olivero, has gained personality and character and fully satisfies every expectation, whether you are looking for tradition or for something more curious, perhaps oriental or vegan. Fabio Olivero has a long experience abroad and especially a Japanese wife, Sato, from whom he has drawn some really tasty recipes. Ilaria Santorelli and Stefano Servetti's project, to propose a cuisine that is not only traditional and contemporary in terms of cooking and settings in a pleasant Relais de Campagne, has evolved over the years and today can be said to have been realized. The wine cellar boasts all the wines of Tenuta Carretta, Malgrà and Edoardo Miroglio, as well as the best Barbaresco. Finally, hospitality can count on cozy rooms with sophisticated design. ...

Villa Tiboldi - Canale (CN)

Image
The Villa Tiboldi restaurant is part of the Agriturismo Relais of the same name, a splendid, charming residence in the Roero in Canale, of which lemilleUnanotte publishes a rich Reportage. The restaurant, which of the agriturismo has only the name, has recently been enriched with a scenic glassed-in veranda. In the two warm and cozy dining rooms, the mixed barrique and stone plank floors, barrel-vaulted and brick ceilings, original wall sconces, and designer chandeliers stand out. At Villa Tiboldi we experimented this time with some new dishes, mostly vegetarian, that Chef Luca Piccinelli wanted to include on the menu as a tasty alternative to the solid local cuisine operated so far. The menu offers a selection of dishes that are always very tasty and thoughtful, capable of satisfying every taste. All the preparations are made with a few ingredients with clear and well-defined flavors: an absolutely modern cuisine that knows how to alternate tradition and contemporaneity. Kudos t...

n'Duma - Alba (CN)

Image
Restaurant n'Duma is based in Alba, a stone's throw from the historic center. It is run by Sara Borsa, who previously ran the historic Osteria Italia in San Rocco Seno d'Elvio. The interior is pleasant, with an exposed brick wall and well-matched color nuances. Sara Borsa's cuisine covers the main classic dishes of the Langa (and it could not be otherwise, given the location), but does not ignore a few moderate forays into contemporary cuisine. All with a nice light hand and a lot of enthusiasm. In some of her dishes we appreciated some well-calibrated oriental notes, added without ever the urge to overdo. From a fancy wine cellar we got smart and thick pairings. Do you want to post your comment? Make yourself the Critic on the Blog! Post your comment:
