The Antica Osteria di Ronchettino is a historic place, a farmhouse dating back to 1800, now incorporated in the Lombard metropolis, with a secret garden.
The restaurant's detail-laden interior creates a warm, personal atmosphere. In the kitchen, Chef Simone Zanon.
Originally from Rovigo, class of '86, he trained at Lake Garda, Abano Terme and Venice, and then worked at the Expo in Milan. His subsequent experiences are at Darmas in Monza, Osteria del Ponte in Trezzano sul Naviglio and finally at Ronchettino.
The decision to focus on a traditional Milanese cuisine may not be as "commercial" and "trendy" as others in the city, but in this specific case it pays off, considering the turnout and customer satisfaction.
In the kitchen you can notice the research of the small producer and of the niche excellence, which is added to the sure hand of Chef Simone Zanon, very careful in interpreting with care the great dishes of Milanese tradition.
The cellar includes many organic and natural wines and pursues the best quality-price ratio.
