La Giasseria, Drogheria Ittica, is located in Pavia in a central location, a few steps from the pedestrian area.
The dining rooms are divided into 3 rooms, the first of which is a continuation of the entrance. Three steps lead up to the second small room with grit floors and a slightly curved floor plan. The beautiful solid wood tables are all different from each other.
La Giasseria is a "sui generis" restaurant that deserves great attention: under the aegis of patron Mirko Quirino, chef Alessandro Cerutti and sushiman Marcello Riina create a fish and Japanese-inspired cuisine that is wonderfully based on avant-garde techniques and a respect for "poor" raw materials that deserves open applause.
You will enjoy a rich, stimulating, cultured and refined gastronomic experience in a shabby-chic environment that elegantly reflects and synthesizes the philosophy of the house.
The maturing of fish is a relatively new frontier and decidedly little explored even by the great kitchens: here it is done with love even before the masterly technique, and the dishes that arrive on the table really seem to smell of passion.
