Marco Polo - Ventimiglia (IM)

The Marco Polo restaurant, run for three generations by the Pani family, is located in a beautiful seafront position on the Ventimiglia promenade. The place is unmistakable: a building entirely made of wood, like a chalet, which stands out among the other signs of the beach establishments. The interiors are also completely made of wood: the overall atmosphere, warm and welcoming, may initially amaze with its originality in the context. The entrance precedes the two dining rooms. The main one has a rectangular plan, well-spaced tables and overlooks the private beach through large windows and a French door. In the kitchen there is Diego Pani, a young and concrete chef. Among his experiences, the kitchens of Vittorio Beltramelli, Joël Robuchon, Guy Savoy and three years at Louis XV in Monte Carlo together with Alain Ducasse. Arnolfo - Colle di Val d'Elsa

Ristorante Arnolfo, a top star in Italian Haute Catering and a member of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux chain and Jeunes Restaurateurs d'Europe, has just moved into its spectacular new crystal venue designed by Gaetano and Giovanni Trovato on the hillsides of Colle di Val d'Elsa.

Right from the entrance you will be struck by the choice of fine materials, which are absolutely local: Travertine from Rapolano Terme and Siena Yellow Marble. The vast dining room is a single room completely devoid of visually disturbing elements such as columns or dividing walls that opens with immense windows, like a veranda, onto a breathtaking view of the ancient medieval village of Colle di Val d'Elsa.

The Trovatos have left out no detail to make their new creature splendid: even a high-tension pylon was had to be removed at their expense so as not to obstruct the view, an operation not only costly but complicated by the endless red tape involved.

If Cuisine is culture, and for us it is, visiting Arnolfo means going to a Maestro.

Gaetano Trovato's strictly express cuisine, based on the extraordinary bounty of the Tuscan territory and centuries-old Italian culinary traditions, can be defined as classic Mediterranean and linked to tradition, with the aim of expressing the maximum potential from each ingredient, worked with the best techniques in order to create new and surprising tastes and scents.

Watching the Kitchen Brigade at work, moving as if in a synchronized ballet, is another of the wonders reserved for guests.
