Antinè - Barbaresco (CN)

Image
Antinè is located in the center of Barbaresco, an excellence of Italian viticulture, right next to the headquarters of Cantine Gaja. The restaurant, owned by Chef Manuel Bouchard, is now an attractive "gastronomic bistro" of regional cuisine. The wide staircase with stone slab steps leads you to the restaurant room on the second floor, past a dramatic lamp-sculpture. The setting is minimalist: gray tile floors, clear walls with no pictures, designer hanging lamps, and a few well-spaced tables. A stop at Antinè is always worth a special trip thanks to a cuisine that fully repays expectations. Manuel Bouchard's hand is, yes, hooked on tradition, but it is at the same time modern, thanks to research conducted without exasperations of technique or leaps toward the avant-garde: you will find there a few notes of the Orient, clean, precise and distinguishable flavors, well-thought-out textures and cooking, and a few "divertissements," all accompanied by an uncom...

Le Piemontesine - Igliano (CN)

Image
Le Piemontesine, a hotel and restaurant, is located in Igliano, a tiny village in Alta Langa where the owners' great-grandparents Jérôme and Charlotte lived. The Migottos have returned here from Paris, no less! He has worked his way up there working in some of the most distinguished restaurants, even 3 Michelin stars; she has been in the kitchen and dining room of major French resorts. The Hotel is a new building erected on the ruins of an irretrievable rustic house, respectful of the aesthetic canons of the area, very bright thanks to a multiplicity of arched windows, and well cared for down to the smallest detail. The restaurant is entered from the hotel lobby, which is large, airy and decorated in light hues. The rectangular-plan dining room overlooks the garden, where aperitifs are served when the weather permits. At Piemontesine you will experience the successful meeting of two cuisines, the French one well recognizable for its cooking techniques and the use of some typ...

L'Inedito Vigin Mudest - Alba (CN)

Image
The Vigin Mudest, Alba's first serving license, was a family-run eatery where people would gather over a good dish and glass to comment on the exploits of the Elastic Ball. By taking over its management, chef Flavio Scaiola has given back to the city an establishment with a great culinary tradition. The dining room located on the ground floor is informal, with a bistro-like feel. L'Inedito Vigin Mudest is an excellent historic restaurant of traditional cuisine, which the guidance of chef Flavio Scaiola, an old acquaintance of ours from the days of the Old Three Stars in Barbaresco, has enriched with content. There you will find the great classics of Langa cuisine, all prepared with the use of raw materials of absolute quality and in full respect of tradition, but also a few fish dishes made with a sure hand. The undisputed technique of the chef represents a real guarantee! Do you want to post your comment? Make yourself the Critic on the Blog! Post your comment:

Raiz - Canelli (AT)

Image
Raiz, meaning Roots, is a new small quality Churrascaria recently opened in Canelli by an enterprising and motivated couple, he Brazilian she Piedmontese, a real bet, in our opinion a winning one, in the provincial town that is the capital of Moscato d'Asti. The restaurant is small and well-maintained, air-conditioned and furnished with taste and personality. Prominent among the furnishings are a few bottles on display, introducing a consideration of the Cellar curated by Elena, which is striking for the magnificent selection work illustrated by a beautiful Wine List with photographic images of the bottles of each label. In the kitchen, Chef Bruno Ribeiro de Moraes is in charge of the Churrasco. At Raiz you experience authentic ethnic cuisine. The selected meats are of the highest quality, the preparations and cooking well-executed, and the Cantina focused on real treats. Do you want to post your comment? La Limonaia - Torino

Image
La Limonaia, Chef Cesare Grandi's gastronomic address in Turin, is based in a quiet, decentralized area in the courtyard of a modern apartment building. The Restaurant dining room looks like a large veranda furnished with an original mix of tastefully assorted objects and furnishings. At the entrance, there is even no shortage of a stone well and a polished grand piano. From Art Nouveau to Deco... The walls with the prints, the sideboards and bookcases, the skeletonized ceilings, the tables of various shapes and sizes (notable are those with showcase tops) served by chairs of different styles, the LED Poldina table lamps, the wrought-iron details-everything is well juxtaposed and contributes to a composite, pleasant and charming atmosphere. Cesare Grandi's ethical, cerebral, cultured and exciting cuisine, certainly capable of intriguing and astonishing, plays with great balance on the thoughtful combinations, by contrast or affinity, of flavors, textures and temperatures,...

La Betulla - S. Bernardino di Trana (TO)

Image
La Betulla Restaurant is located on the hilly highway linking Trana and Giaveno, near Lake Avigliana, a few kilometers from Turin. The large main dining room houses large round tables that are well separated from each other and tastefully set. The ambiance is "1970s," with light wood floors, light-colored walls alternating with salmon-colored portions, and large full-wall mirrors. The two side bow windows stand out. La Betulla is an establishment we are particularly fond of: with each of our visits we experiment with some exciting new recipe, and we feel we can recommend it to those seeking superior cuisine offered at very attractive prices. Franco Giacomino is a cooking enthusiast before being a very good chef, selector of the most reliable suppliers and discoverer of authentic goodies. Do you want to post your comment? Villa Pattono - Costigliole d'Asti (AT)

Image
Villa Pattono Restaurant is the gourmet space of the charming Relais of the same name created by the Ratti family (excellent Barolista) located in Costigliole d'Asti on the hill in front of the Castle. The two classical and elegant dining rooms, frescoed and decorated with oriental carpets and rich draperies, overlook the garden with century-old trees through large windows. Villa Pattono impressed us with its quality, classic and gourmet gastronomic proposal, appropriate to the location to which it belongs, that of a small Charming Hotel in the countryside. Alongside the inevitable Langhe proposals (battuta di fassona and plin above all), you will find fish dishes of excellent workmanship. The excellence of the cuisine is accompanied by a great wine cellar in which Ratti's house labels stand out. Do you want to post your comment? Make yourself the Critic on the Blog! Post your comment:
